Rest In Peace

It Just Dawned On Me

I found out yesterday that another person has died that was in my high school graduating class. I had a rather large graduating class, I think 500+ seniors. I didn’t know this boy personally and we didn’t hang out, but there is something about his death that struck me…..because he was my age. Hearing this reminds me of my own mortality.

Life can happen and then end so quickly. None of us should take what we’ve been given for granted.

The days the moments, the memories. When you’re seventeen or eighteen years old, the days seem endless. Graduation brings with it a life time laid out ahead of you. So the girl walked into the living room and asked her grandmother, “Grandmother, why did you always cut a few inches off the Sunday roast when you put in the pan?”

The grandmother thought this over and finally remarked, “Well I don’t really know. It’s just the…

Blessed Though Persecuted

journeybits

As I was reading the word, the Holy Spirit began to speak to me about blessings on this side of heaven. God desires us to live in prosperity, however He did not promise us it would be affliction free.

Mark 10:30 – But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

Our earthly blessings come but we will have to pay the price for them. The price being talked about, taken advantage of, being robbed, and stabbed in the back. But as God’s word promises us the greater blessing is eternal life with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
